Whiteline Front Strut Brace (N13/N14)

The hardware:

One Whiteline Front Strut Brace, part number KSB580A

The Job:

The labour took around 10 minutes. This included removal of the nuts at the top of each strut tower, and the ditching of a little plastic wire holder thingo on the passenger side strut tower (bin), the adjustment of the bar to fit over the bolts (slack) the tightening of the bolts and then the tightening of the bar (not too tight!)

An easy job even for someone that doesn't know what a spanner looks like.

The Cost:

I borrowed this brace off James Garwood who owns a trick N13 pulsar sedan with a CA18DET engine in it.. lovely, thanks mate. I've since returned it and not gotten around to purchasing my own. Current cost as per Whiteline's web page is $162.73, add 10% GST

My final notes:

I installed the bar whilst the car was loaded full of audio gear for an SPL comp, when driving the car home I didn't give it any major booting, however, i could feel the difference even in a STRAIGHT LINE!

The car felt more solid, and a bit nicer to drive. I took the audio gear out and gave it a thrashing that weekend at a race meet (autokhana). YEAH baby. nice. Less understeer, and better turn in.

The biggest difference? Cornering in the wet. I highly recommend this as a bang for your buck upgrade. Cheap and effective. Remember strut braces have different effects on different cars. Some people don't believe they make much of a difference, however on the Pulsar? For sure.

I'll be buying both front and rear strut braces in good time.

Special Thanks:

James Garwood for yanking the brace off his car, which was on stands and missing a gearbox during my loan period. Cheers mate.
