YATSSS: Yet Another Turbo SSS - Conversion Pictures

gtir_conversion01.jpg
How front cut came, after bumper was removed... (Didn't get it with the bonnet - they would have charged me an extra $750 for it.. screw that!).
gtir_conversion02.jpg
How it came.
gtir_conversion03.jpg
Front cut semi stripped.
gtir_conversion04.jpg
Having a look inside.
gtir_conversion05.jpg
Interior now fully gutted. That's the ECU sitting there in the middle.
gtir_conversion06.jpg
Almost finished stripping..
gtir_conversion07.jpg
Few bits leftover.
gtir_conversion08.jpg
Dom, touching my turbo....
gtir_conversion09.jpg
Interesting.. Note the beefy steel aftermarket shield underneath the radiator support. Was suspected this car was raced.
gtir_conversion10.jpg
Sitting on the hoist so we could remove the drive shafts, exhaust and gearbox levels.
gtir_conversion11.jpg
Going up.....
gtir_conversion12.jpg
Going up.. Easier than going down in this instance.
gtir_conversion13.jpg
Going up, going down...
gtir_conversion14.jpg
Good shite.
gtir_conversion15.jpg
Pretty empty 'eh!
gtir_conversion16.jpg
Having a bit of a relax in the sun.
gtir_conversion17.jpg
Pulling that 12 tonne gearbox off my GTiR engine.
gtir_conversion18.jpg
Woo turbo. Free play was pretty good, rotated nicely.
gtir_conversion19.jpg
New flywheel - mmmm perdy.
gtir_conversion20.jpg
My car. Stock as a rock.
gtir_conversion21.jpg
Car almost ready - gotta remove the bonnet first I spose.
gtir_conversion22.jpg
Chains attached, just gotta hold it, unbolt mounts, and drop it.
gtir_conversion23.jpg
Ready to drop.
gtir_conversion24.jpg
Almost gone.
gtir_conversion25.jpg
Persuading it to leave... Stubborn beast.
gtir_conversion26.jpg
Bye bye..
gtir_conversion27.jpg
Rather empty... Wonder how much it weighs without all that stuff?
gtir_conversion28.jpg
Pulling gearbox off the old engine.. Those air tools rock!!
gtir_conversion29.jpg
Engine all assembled ready to be put in..
gtir_conversion30.jpg
Engine in, checking wiring etc. Diagrams everywhere!
gtir_conversion31.jpg
Exhaust Manifold Shield. The shiny bits are from me attacking it with a wire attachment for the grinder, but it didn't work too well as the rust was very deep.
gtir_conversion32.jpg
Main shield - AFTER HPC coating.. Looks good 'eh!
gtir_conversion33.jpg

All done!
